After months of planning, goodbyes, and a whirlwind of emotions, I’ve finally arrived in Linköping. It’s surreal to sit down and write these words because, for so long, this was just a dream—a far-off goal that didn’t feel real until now. But here I am, in Sweden, starting my new life with my husband in this beautiful city, and I couldn’t be happier.
Linköping has already stolen my heart. It’s the perfect blend of history, charm, and modernity, with cobblestone streets that feel like they hold centuries of stories and a skyline that hints at Sweden’s innovative future. But the best part? This isn’t just a visit. This is home now.
For years, my husband and I navigated the ups and downs of being in different countries. The FaceTime calls, the airport goodbyes, the countdowns to the next visit—they were worth it, but they were hard. Now, we don’t have to worry about time zones or flight schedules. We get to wake up in the same place every day. That simple fact feels like the greatest luxury.

There’s a language to learn (I’m already loving lagom and smörgåsbord), cultural differences to embrace, and a new rhythm to settle into. But I’m ready for it all, because I know I’m not doing it alone. My husband is my anchor, my partner in adventure, and my biggest cheerleader. I’m so grateful that we’re finally here, together, ready to take on whatever comes next.
